My cat's poop is dark green. Is it from the new food or serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 10 months and 10 days old

Good evening! A few days ago we changed my Felix's food and he had diarrhea, I gave him boiled chicken chest and his poop returned to normal; and got him another food brand! Since then his poop is normal, but today his poop has become dark green! Is it because of the food change or could be something more serious? Thank you again for your help!

Yes, the poop is probably green because of the new food. Since it is otherwise normal and the stools are formed you have nothing to worry about. Continue to monitor Felix's stool over the next few days to make sure it does not change any further.
