Should I get cooling mats for my indoor cats who like cool spots?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 11 months and 2 days old | 10 lbs

Do you think I need cooling mats for my cats? They are strictly indoor cats with access to water at all times. I notice they like to lay on the cool tiles near my door.

Indoor cats rarely get overheated unless very active or stressed. They may enjoy a cooling mat though and it would be more comfortable than laying on the tiles. You cold also get a small quiet fan to circulate the air. Make sure it has a cover or is up so they can't get their paws inside.
