What temperature and lighting does my bearded dragon need at night?

At night should the temperature be in the 60s or below or high 90s degree like the day time ? Should I just turn off all lights during the night.? I usually keep just the red infrared heat light (We're currently in the summer season) I have a bearded dragon

I think leaving the red light on at night is fine. I would try not to let it get below 60s at night. I am going to attach a great resource about husbandry and diet for your bearded dragon to help give you better guidelines on his temperature, lighting, and diet. No, Rango does not need a light at night. He may need a heat source, such as a ceramic heat emitter (CHE), if nighttime temperatures drop below 70 F. A CHE will emit heat without visible light. So I got a juvenile beaded dragon like about 2 weekend ago, but I noticed he does not sleep as much, and every time I turn of his lights he goes to sleep, but the lady at petco told Me that I should always keep the heat lamp on, should I turn it off
The lights should go off at night. A photo period of 12-14 hours depending on the season is recommended. The heat lamp can be turned off as long as nighttime temps in the enclosure do not fall below 70 F. If they do, you can use a ceramic heat emitter, or CHE. This will provide heat without visible light and will not disturb your dragon while sleeping.

Hi i just got my beared dragon today and my questions do i turn the baskin light off at night? I have no red light.
If it projects light, then yes, it should be turned off at night, so their natural circadian rhythm preserved. However, you should ensure that there is an alternative heat source (i.e. a heat pad). I always found it difficult to ensure that the light is turned off at night and had timers set to do the job for me. I hope that helps and all goes well with Scratch. These are great pets! We just purchased a bearded dragon. We were told that we have everything we need. I was reading the book we received and it says we need a photoperiod. Do we actually need one?

My bearded dragons heat lamp just burnt out - I don’t have a replacement and all of the local reptile/pet stores are closed for the night. What do I do to keep him safe until tomorrow when I can get him a new light?
As long as the room temp doesn't drop below 70 F overnight, Lincoln should be fine. A nighttime drop in temps is normal in a beardie's natural environment anyway. Be sure to pick up a spare along with the replacement tomorrow. In a pinch, a hot water bottle wrapped in a hand towel can be used as a heat source.

My favorite resource for bearded dragon care is anapsid.org. http://www.anapsid.org/bearded.html Gwenevere should have a tank that’s large enough to permit a temperature range with a cool side about 75-85F and a hot side 95-100F. A UVB light should be on about 10-12 hours a day on the hot side. A water bowl should always be available and should be large enough to permit full body soaks. Good luck!

Is my set up ok for my beardie and I’m thinking of getting a background picture to add. I have a uvb light, a baskin lamp, a ceramic heat emmiter for night, a thermostat and two thermometers one on each side
It's a fine set up. You may not need the CHE at night. As long as nighttime temperatures don't drop below 70 F, you should be fine without supplemental heat. I can't see the top, but make sure the UVB light is not blocked by fine mesh.

Con rats on your new beardie! Conflicting information online can certainly drive you crazy. I'm not sure if you had a question or concern since the post was truncated. Juvenile beardies need temps that are a bit higher than adult dragons. As Sam gets older, you can make adjustments. For now, the basking area should range from 35C to 43C. Ambient temps should range between 29C and 32C. Nighttime temps should not drop below 22C. You can use a ceramic heat emitter at night if necessary. This is a heater that does not emit visible light which can disturb your beardie at night. Humidity levels should be 35%-40%. Beardies come from desert environments. High humidity can predispose them to respiratory infection. Use high quality thermometers and hygrometers to monitor parameters. Hello just got a young bearded how many crickets am I to feed it ? And when should I give veggies and what veggies? And is the red light only for the nighttime?.. is the uv light supposed to be on at all times ?
Good questions. Since Bearded Dragons are omnivores, you want limit the amount of crickets (and other insects) you feed them, so they are motivated to eat the veggies. You can do this by having a daily feed time. It's not easy to know exactly how many to feed at a certain time, because it depends on their size. I would start with 12. If this seems like too much (he doesn't eat them within a day), then cut back till it seems adequate. Remember, you want a few hours where he only has vegetables to eat. If he/she eats them all right away, then you can add some more. You want the UV lamp to mimic daylight, so it should not be on longer than 12 hours. I always used a timer with my lamps, or I'd invariably leave them on or off for too long. I've included a link to a very helpful website that has great information on how to care for Bearded Dragons.
