My budgie's tummy is bleeding from feather picking. What should I do?

If the bleeding is because of over-preening/feather picking I would recommend that you try to discourage this behavior by offering Mithu another outlet for her energy. This is most easily done with increased interaction with you or other family members and interactive toys to keep him entertained. Sometimes with excessive feather picking birds need an antianxiety medication or a sock buddy (like a t-shirt) to deny him access to the feathers. If the bleeding is from another unknown cause then I would recommmend taking him in the the vet to be checked out. Once the underlying problem is addressed the bleeding should stop and Mithu should stop picking. Good luck.
