My Frenchie puppy has skin bumps. What Benadryl dosage for allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 1 day old | 11 lbs

What is the dosage for liquid Benadryl for puppies please? My 3 mo old Frenchie has bumps under her fur on her back area and I'd like to see if it's an allergy? Her fur appears raised but she doesn't appear bothered by it? Thank you for your help!

The dose for Benadryl is 1mg per pound of body weight. I would give Lulu 1/2 of a 25mg tablet once. If the bumps don't go down in a couple hours, she should see a vet for diagnosis! Especially if the bumps spread or you see facial swelling, itching, vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy.

Benadryl is usually dose at 1 to 2 mg per pound. If she is 11 pounds then I would give her either 1 teaspoon of children's Benadryl OR 1/2 tablet of an adult 25mg Benadryl. If the wells are not improving I would see your vet as it could also be an infection. I hope this helps!
