Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 100 lbs
Hi! My dog is almost 10 years old and her hips are getting bad. She is a lab mix. I was trying to get her in the bathtub to give her a bath and she was tugging really hard on the leash so I gave up and took her outside to wash her. When i was done, I noticed her eyes look kind of cloudy and booody. Im really worried about her. Is this serious or could it have been caused by stress or something? Will it heal on its own or do i need to take her to the vet?

I'm sorry to hear Shadow isn't feeling well. Pulling on the leash can definitely cause the whites around to eye to become inflamed. If this is the case, it should start to look better in a couple of hours when Shadow calms down. There could have also been irritation from shampoo getting in her eyes. I would rinse them with a contact saline solution and if they don't start to look better soon or if she's pawing at them, take her to her vet. Good luck and kisses to Shadow!

Ouch, poor Shadow! It's possible her eye symptoms could be due to pressure from tugging on the leash, but it could also be due to an eye infection, allergies, or trauma to the eye. I would definitely take her into the vet for this. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take her into a vet asap to that her eye can be diagnosed and treated.
