Im a new ferret owner & the last owners of my ferrets had said they love cheerios as a snack! So I have been giving them cheerios quite often. It wasn't till yesterday I finally became curious to see if it was okay for them to ingest. Now I have found out that they can't digest carbs & can get insomnia! My ferret sid is quite sleepy all the time, & very calm. He hasn't lost weight, but his way of being so tired and slow concerns me. My other two ferrets are beyond wild, and they ate cheerios too

Cheerios are safe for ferrets but I would limit the amount you give. They should be given as an occasional snack. Ferrets are often fed high fat diets and this can lead to health issues. It is possible Sid is just most laid back than your other ferrets. IF she is eating, drinking, urinating and defecating I would not be to concerned. However since she is a new addition to the family it would not hurt to get her looked over by a vet to make sure she is 100% healthy!
