Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 5 years and 10 months old | 14 lbs
Cat is on c/d diet. Lately is having terrible orange smelly diarrhea. Blood work should mild intense bacterial infection (FOLATE 20.4). Was on antibiotics for 10 days and a biotic supplements. Now, cat stole is reverting back to the orange smely paddle. (TLI - 12, B12 - 1616) Any advice?

Hello and thank you for your post! The bacterial overgrowth was not very high, which is good. If the stool is not improving or got better and is getting worse off of antibiotics, I would consider going through a second round of antibiotics (with a potentially different antibiotic) and for a longer period of time. Some antibiotics that I use for the intestinal overgrowth is Metronidazole and Tylosin. These antibiotics I've had quite a good track record of getting these diarrhea cases to resolve. Another possibility is that the food (C/D) may be causing the soft smelly stool. You might consider switching to Royal Canin SO as an alternative option. I would consult with your veterinarian to discuss this more in depth and to get him on another round of antibiotics. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions / concerns you may have.
