Why is my male rabbit pulling out my female's fur? Is it serious?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 2 years old | 4.409 lbs

Hi , I have two rabbits , one female and one male they are both desexed and have been around each other for about a year not but recently I have noticed my male rabbit has been eating/ pulling out my female rabbits hair. I would just like to know if this is a serious thing where i should look for some more advise ? thank you in advanced.

Poor lexi! I would make sure that the male is pulling out the females hair. Rabbits some times will pull out there own hair. Typically this is related to behavioral issues like stress . However pulling out hair can be a medical issue too. Skin mites, skin infection and even dental disease can cause a rabbit to pull out its hair. If your rabbit is truly pulling out lexi's hair I would recommend taking him to the vet just to make 100% sure he is healthy. IF he is healthy I would recommend trying to separate the two rabbits for small amounts of time through out the day . IT is possible that they are starting to become stressed around each other. I would try to prevent one from pulling the hair out of the other.
