Is it okay to take my pet rat on frequent short car trips?

Hello! I have a pet female rat that I adopted at the end of June. Supposedly she was an adolescent when I got her. I know that rats can not vomit, and I was wondering if it is okay to take them on road trips since she might feel some motion sickness. The farthest rides she would be taken on would range from 20-30 minutes. Is it okay to take her with me often, or at all?

This should be fine. Rats tend to be very inquisitive and adjustable, so it may be an enjoyable experience for her. It will, at least, be good enrichment for her. It should be relatively easy to see if she is distressed at all. If she is wandering around, eating or drinking, then you know she is content. If her behavior seems off (like she just hides the whole time), then you'll know it's uncomfortable for her. Good luck and enjoy little Roux - they make great pets.
