Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Female | 12 lbs
My dog has been pooping softly, or diarrhea. She's been lazy and will walk around ever so often then lay down again. She's eating and drinking well though.

Hello! Thank you for posting your question! If you haven't tried pepto bismol, you can give that a try and give Rosie 2tsp every 8hrs. I would also begin a bland diet such as boiled chicken breast and rice until the diarrhea resolves. You can also try and add a probiotic such as Fortiflora. I would not give the pepto bismol for more than 24 hours. If the diarrhea is worsening and not resolving, i would bring a stool sample to your vet to have it tested. There are other medications that your vet will habe to help resolve the diarrhea. If Rosie ate something she normally doesn't eat, this could have caused a dietary indiscretion. I hope the diarrhea resolves soon! Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns you may have. I am also available via consultation.

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Rosie! I am glad to hear Rosie is eating and drinking. She may just not feel well due to the diarrhea and that is why she just wants to rest. I would try starting a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice as small frequent meals. Feed about 1 1/2 cups per day until 1-2 normal stools. If she stops eating or starts vomiting I recommend you get her checked by your vet. I hope Rosie feels better soon!

Hi there and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If Brownie is having diarrhea you can try offering a bland diet of sweet potato or rice and boiled chicken. However, because she is also acting lethargic you may want to take her to a veterinarian to ensure no other issues are going on. If the diarrhea does not resolve within the next day or two definitely schedule a veterinary visit as Brownie may need medication.
