Hi there, Bit of an odd question - can dogs catch human STDs? My girlfriend took her 14-week-old puppy for a walk and had a used condom in his mouth, for less than a minute. Will he need to get checked over or anything? Pet's info: Dog | Cocker Spaniel | Male

Although it's pretty gross, it is unlikely Albie would have been transmitted any diseases from picking up a used condom. As long as Albie didn't ingest the actual condom he will likely be just fine. If he did eat the condom, then you definitely want to get him checked out by a vet because that could cause bowel obstruction. Please also monitor Albie for any changes and if veterinarian any vomiting, diarrhea, inappetance or malaise occur please have him seen by a veterinarian.
