My cat's eye is healing after a fight, but still has blood. Cleanser?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 8 days old | 8.3 lbs

2 days ago my cat got into a fight and his eye was filled with blood and was leaking white discharge. I am not allowed to take him to a vet so we didnt. Now, his eye looks much better, with little to no discharge and he is no longer squinting it like before. He doesnt seem to be in pain, but theres still a streak of blood in his eye (not lots at all). Would a cat eye cleanser help get the blood out? I believe his eye has healed or is at least in better condition. I am unable to visit a vet.

I would not recommend that you use any eye cleansing products. It appears from the photo, that the red streak is inside the eye. This is likely an area that is still healing and has inflammation. This may go away or there may be some residual scar tissue remaining. Cleaning the eye will not help. It has healed pretty well on its own. Just continue to monitor it. If it changes or gets worse, please repost another question. Thanks!
