Hello my 2 year old lab has a red circular bump on her tail (about the size of a nickel) it is raised and possibly has puss. She did not eat dinner and threw up earlier today. It wasnt there this morning so I don't know where it came from.

I'm sorry to hear that Maddie is not feeling well. It's possible that she had some trauma to her tail, hit it on something, got a bite wound or an insect bite or sting. If there is discharge there, you could try and put a warm compress on it to encourage drainage and then apply a topical triple antibiotic ointment. If it continues to look worse, I would have an exam done by a veterinarian. If the vomiting and poor appetite continues I would also take her to the vet for this reason. I'm unsure if these could be related or two separate causes. I hope she gets feeling better soon!
