What does it mean when my dog backs his butt into me while sitting?

What is meant when I'm sitting and Maxx backs his butt up in front of me his face looking away from me

Many dogs do this when they want their back or hips rubbed, so he may just be asking you to pet him in this area :) This can also be a play behavior in some dogs. Either way, it's a sign of trust that he's willing put his back to you without needing to see what you're doing - so take it as a compliment!
