My dog has a large red circle near her ear. What could it be?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 3 months old | 19 lbs

I found this large red circle close to my dogs eat and I'm wondering what can that be ? I only found this out today.

This looks like a puncture wound that has become very irritated. Puncture wounds like this can be caused by sharp objects, foreign bodies and parasites (Bot flies). I would have Bella seen by your vet to have this area flushed out well to make sure no foreign bodies are inside and also to get her on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicaiton to get this to heal well. Best wishes at the vet and I hope smells gets this resolved soon.

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking(if any).

What is this. On the side of his eat
It looks as though your dog has a fairly inflamed mass or cystic lesion on his ear. The only way to definitively determine the cause of the mass is through a fine needle aspirate where a vet draws a few cells out of the lesion with a needle (it's quick and relatively painless!) before examining the cells microscopically. From there, you will have a better sense as to whether the lesion is benign or malignant and whether or not surgical removal is needed. The other concern is that this lesion appears quite red with discharge and may be infected if your dog has been scratching at it. The vet will also be able to determine if antibiotics are needed at the time of the exam. I hope that all goes well!

My dog got bit in the ear a week ago by a dog. It’s not bleeding not just red. What should I do?
It seems a small trauma, which is healing fine and at the moment (looking at the pic) I cannot see any sign of infection. Disinfection can be done at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any scratching (if any). My dog has what looks like a surface wound under her ear that is damp. I have kept it clean, using a warm paper towel, and dry. But after a few hours it gets damp again. She spent a week at a boarding kennel and on pick up I noticed her ear was matte
From the pictures, it looks like Bambina might have a hot spot or skin infection. She will need to see her veterinarian because she will need medical treatment (usually antibiotics and something for inflammation. Please do not use any over the counter medications). This can be very uncomfortable so getting her treatment is important for it to heal and her to start feeling better.

I noticed these two wounds a few days ago. The first pic is from day 1. The other two are from yesterday. Can anyone tell me what this is?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! These could potentially represent nodules or masses that have become ulcerated. They could also be just focal patches of dermatitis. I recommend that you have Bella evaluated by your veterinarian. This is most of the time differentiated with a test called a fine needle aspirate which is easy, cheap and pain-free. Sometimes, a biopsy is required for a diagnosis. Have Bella evaluated by your veterinarian to have this test performed to try to sort out what the diagnosis is so that the best course of action can be determined. If it does not appear to be a mass on examination, they can at least do cytology of the superficial aspect and see if infected and prescribe antibiotics for it. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something benign!

I just noticed this red spot on my dog and I was wondering what it is? She doesn't seem to be irritated or hurt by it.
Thank you for providing a picture of Rosie's wound. It looks like she could have injured herself, leading to this red spot. I would gently clean it with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep an eye on it, and if it gets bigger, becomes swollen, warm to the touch, or there's pus, I would take her into the vet to get treated. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

My dog has a red bump on his ear that just appeared yesterday and I'm very concerned what could it be?

If it truly was not there yesterday, this is most likely to be a bug bite (tick, mosquito, spider, bee, other), dog/cat bite (if he was wrestling with any other friends lately), or some other random trauma (crashing through a spiky bush or catching it on something). If you're unsure how long it's been there, add cyst, benign or malignant tumor, and others to the list of possibilities. I'd slap some neosporin on there twice daily and watch it. If no improvement in 3 days (or if worsening at any time), it's time to see the vet. This goes for any accompanying facial swelling, vomiting, or diarrhea, as these could be signs of serious allergic reaction. Best of luck to you and Lucky!

My dog has some type of cut or bite on his ear. I didn't know how to treat it.
That looks like a hot spot but it could also be something more serious. I recommend a vet exam. In the meantime you can try using this spray to see if it helps. ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/vetericyn-plus-hot-spot-antimicrobial-gel-for-dogs ) If she is scratching at it you may have to get her a cone collar to stop her from doing that. More scratching will just further traumatize the skin.

I came home my dog was bleeding and has pus around the area has spread to his ears please help
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is likely a hotspot which is a very inflamed focal infection. Usually these occur secondary to allergies, among other possibilities. It is very important to treat these infections appropriately and the sooner they get treated the better for the patient. I recommend that you have Buster evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They are likely going to prescribe anti-inflammatory medications and antibiotics. In the meantime, you can use an e-collar (which you may obtain from your local pet store), to avoid further self trauma by him scratching at it. Good luck and have a good night!
