Our Westie has went to the vet for a UTI and during the urinalysis struvite crystials were noted. She has been on C/D prescription diet for about 10 weeks to see if they clear up. In your article you mention that some animals are more predisposed to this than others. Is there other methods other than expensive C/D prescription food to help control mitigate the potential of high pH in the urine?

They do make a pill known as DLM that helps lower the pH but if you lower it too much you can form calcium crystals in the urine that can lead to bladder stones as well. Either method takes frequent urine checks to monitor progress
