My puppy is having diarrhea. We took her to emergency on Thursday. Everything came out clear (X-rays, diagnostics, blood work) they prescribed metronidazole .06 ml for 10 days. She hadn't pooped from Thursday night til Sunday night and it came out normal so we decided we would skip a dose for that night because we figured she was back to normal and we didn't want her to be constipated. Only now she's having it again. It's spotting with blood. We're back to giving her the meds. Is this normal?

If the Metronidazole was stopped before she got the full course, then it is possible she just didn't clear up completely. I've never seen Metronidazole cause constipation. Most of the time they don't have as many bowel movements because they haven't been eating their full amount and the intestines were empty from all of the diarrhea. I would continue the Metronidazole. if she still has diarrhea, with or without blood, or it comes right back after you finish the Metronidazole, this warrants another visit to the vet.
