What to do if my dog has a red eye, is vomiting, tired, and won't eat?

My dog has a red eye, the inner eye lid is vibrant red, the eye is tearing and looks painful. This has been accompanied by vomiting, lethargy, and now today a lack of appetite

Sorry to hear that Mavis hasn't been feeling too well. There is no telling whether or not the eye problem is actually related to the other issues you are reporting. Certainly it sounds like the eye is irritated, which can cause enough pain and discomfort to make a dog not want to eat or move around. The vomiting, however, indicates that there is something else happening relating to the GI tract. Even if this were just an eye issue, I would definitely suggest you take Mavis in to the veterinarian to verify there is no corneal ulcer (treatment can not safely be commenced until this has been determined). While there, they will be able to assess Mavis fully for any and all other issues. In the meantime, at home you can check her temperature (99.5-102.5), gum moisture / color, and skin elasticity.
