My dog's spider bite got worse. Should I keep using the spray?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 55 lbs

Hello, my dog Luke got bit by a spider a while ago right below his penis so we took him to the vet. They gave us meds and a spray but unfortunately it has gotten worse. He hasn't gotten the spray recently, should we start spraying him again where the infection is? We thought it might of not helped or made it worse. Please let me know if this will help him until we take him to the vet again.

You can spray the antibiotic spray on it in the meantime but as it is getting worse he will need to have oral antibiotic prescribe ASAP, the area should also be shaved to make it cleaner and less prone to get reinfected.
