hi I live in Iran.I have a cat of 4 to 5 years old. before I got her she had been operated on and they planted a pin in her hand. I was told that the pin should not be removed but now her hand hurts. I was told by a vet that she has bone infection , another one said that the bone is breaking down and another one said that the pin should be removed. there are radiology images one from a month ago and one from yesterday. can you tell me what is wrong with her? thanks for your help.

Hello and thank you for your post! It does look like there is weakening and loss of bone around the pin. I would definitely have this pin removed and then place Pashi in a splint for several weeks until the bone recovers. The first thing I noticed with this is that the pin is quite large in diameter and may be taking up too much space which could have led to this happening. I would schedule a recheck with your vet to possibly have it removed. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions or concerns.
