Kitten overdosed Panacur. When do worms appear & continue treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 27 days old | 2.64 lbs

Gave my 8 weeks old kittens Panacur worming paste yesterday the dosing gauge wasn't explained to me and I think I overdosed them. They have had chronic wind and soft stools since. I've not noticed any worms in there poo yet vet said there would be loads. That they would either vomit them up or poo them out. Neither have happened yet. Should I continue with the three day course after overdosing them? How long does it take for the panacur to work and for the worms to come out of the body?

If you think you overdosed them, I would call your vet or see if there is a 1800 number on the package - those are often helpful! As far as seeing worms- sometimes you do see worms but other times they get digested and you see diarrhea - which may be part of the reason their stools are soft now. I hope this helps!
