My dog has a sore on his cheek near mouth. Is it a growth? What to do?

My dog has an open sore on his cheek and it's horrible looking... wondering what it could be and how it could possible heal being so close to his mouth.

Hello. It would be a good idea to have an exam done by your vet to take a look at that area. That appears to be a growth or tumor and not just a sore. There is nothing you can do yourself to make that get getter. There are many types of skin growths, some are benign and some are cancerous. Your veterinarian can guide you in deciding if surgery to remove that growth is recommended.
