She is 5 and still has puppy teeth. Is this a problem? They bleed when eating hard food and treats.

If Moo Moo is only 5 MONTHS old, then it may be a little early for her to have lost all her teeth but the bleeding you are seeing suggests that they may fall out soon. If however, Moo Moo is 5 YEARS old, then I recommend that you have her examined by your veterinarian. X-rays of the mouth will be able to reveal if there are buried adult teeth or if the teeth Moo Moo has are, in fact, adult teeth.

All puppy teeth should have been replaced by approximately 7 months old. It is quite common for small dogs to not lose their puppy teeth even when the adult teeth come in behind them. These extra teeth should be removed as soon as possible because they can cause additional issues around other teeth, the gums, and other parts of the mouth depending on their location. They can also trap food, debris, and hair and can become a significant source of infection. I recommend that Moo Moo be evaluated by a vet as soon as possible and discuss removing the extra baby teeth.
