Hi, I woke up in the middle of the night last night to my puppy gagging like he wants to throw up. He vommitted once this morning, it was clear with some bubbles. He still eats, drinks, plays and uses the bathroom normally with some gagging every now and then. What should I do?

I'm sorry to hear Sebastian is having issues. First, I would verify that he is vomiting, not regurgitating or coughing hard enough to bring up phlegm. Regurgitation is a sign of some congenital issues that would need to be evaluated by a veterinarian, and exposure to kennel cough can lead to coughing with phlegm production. If it is vomiting, and it worsens or does not resolve in 24hours or he starts acting ill then I would recommend he be evaluated by his veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his issue. Good luck!

He might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Sebastian boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.
