Senior dog with diabetes has pink scaly skin lumps. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Border Terrier | Female | 14 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

My 14 year old border terrier bitch has two skin lesions which are fairly recent and are identical. They are about 1cm in diameter and are pink and scaly with a scab to one side. She has well controlled type 2 diabetes and cushings syndrome. Any advice most welcome. Thank you.

These lumps/growths need to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Tess to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.
