My senior cat with a brain tumor is lethargic and confused. Is she dying?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Female | spayed | 11 years and 7 months old | 20 lbs

I think that my cat is dying, but i'm not sure. she is 11, and for a few days she's been really restless, and when i picck her up, its like shes dead in my arms, but her breathings normal. she find it hard to move, seems really confused and never repositions herself when i lie her down, right now shes got one eye open, and the other closed. a while ago she got diagnosed with horners, but she's always seemed fine, and recently she got diagnosed with a brain tumour, is she dying? is she in pain?

I'm sorry about Jenna. It sounds like she may really not be doing well. Brain tumors can cause seizure like activity and other issues so this may be what your are seeing. If she is so extremely lethargic that she's non responsive and just laying around I am concerned that she may get dehydrated or malnourished. There is a possibility that she is in pain. I think it's best to seek veterinary care for Jenna as so as possible to determine if she needs pain medications or other hospice care.
