I've got a 10week old male gerbil, and a female gerbil which I'm unsure of her age. She's quite a bit larger than him, though. I tried introducing them to each other, then sniffed each other, and didn't really pay too much attention to each other after that. (I have a big cage) A few hours later I notice my little boy had bite marks out of his back end. I've gotten treatment for his injuries, and I'll be waiting to introduce them again, but what would be the best way to go about it?

Generally you need to know gerbils tend to fight and are better kept separated, it's just too common to end up with a severely injured gerbil when kept together. if you do decide to introduce them after all, put them in 2 different cages next to each other first for 2 weeks, then try to put them together under your supervision only.
