My dog's skin lump changed, now red, sore, and itchy. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 years old | 44 lbs

about 2 weeks ago i noticed our 2 year old lab/collie cross had what looked like a small wart on his side that did not appear to bother him however yesterday i noticed it had changed in appearance now larger red sore looking with a white lump in the middle he wants to lick it all the time maybe itching ? no other symptoms

I would recommend taking Alfie to the vet to have the lump looked at. A wart can become infection however warts are not very common in younger dogs. It is possible Alfie has a skin infection, cyst, non cancerous growth or even an allergic reaction. You can try an over the counter anti histamine but a vet visit would be the best option
