Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Female | spayed
I think my dog just broke her back leg or perhaps a sprain. She started running on a hardwood floor like normal, but slipped and immediately started howling/barking. She tried to stand but could not use the leg. The injured leg is pointed forward rather than closer to a 90 degree angle like normal. Right now she is calm and laying down but is clearly in pain. The photos are not possible since she is laying down and its hidden and I can't move her. Please help. Thanks!

A check up is absolutely needed as the signs you are describing are compatible with a severe injury. Radiographs may be needed to determine exactly the entity of the injury. Pain killers (specifically designed for dogs) and immediate intervention is required. Wait until she calm down and then take her your local vet straight away. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
