Inflammation of the skin such as that shown in the picture can occur for a number of reasons including a skin infection, allergies, mange for trauma. If Jojo is scratching at the area, the lesion seems to be getting worse or if you notice inflammation elsewhere she should be seen by a veterinarian. They may recommend a skin scraping or cytology to better determine the underlying cause of the inflammation.
