My dog isn't feeding her 9-day-old puppies. What should I do?

Hi a neighbor abandoned his dog cause she got pregnant by a pitbull. She is a small wired hair terrior. So I took her in and she had 8 puppies and she is protective over them but is not feeding them very often. So now they are 9 days old and cry all the time. I also found one dead this morning. Should I take them from the mother and start caring for them myself. Or give her more time? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | unspayed | 9 days old

How lovely of you to take in this dog and her puppies! If they cry all the time, then they may not be getting the milk they need to survive and I would start caring for them yourself. You will need to get a puppy milk replacer such as KMR from a pet store or supermarket right away. I will put a link below on how to raise orphan puppies.
