Hi there and thank you for posting your question. In regards to allergies, there are multiple causes of allergy symptoms. If we are talking about environmental allergies, there are certainly multiple things you can use to help alleviate allergies. Bathing with a good quality shampoo (Duoxo PS shampoo is a great product) is a good start. Supplementing with Omega-3 fish oils (such as Canine Welactin) and topical essential oils (Dermoscent Essential 6 spot on) can aid in relieving allergy symptoms. Over the counter antihistamines can also be used. You can start with Benadryl and give 1mg per pound of body weight every 12 hours for allergy relief. If these fail to relieve the allergy symptoms, then I would suggest scheduling an appointment with your veterinarian to discuss other options that you may have for treating the allergies as there are many treatments available from your veterinarian to help. Hope this helps and do feel free to contact me with any further questions / concerns that you may have!

Some pets will respond to over the counter anti-histamines. You will need to call your veterinarian for a product or dosage recommendation because online veterinarians are prohibited from discussing human medication usage in pets. Omega 3 fatty acid supplements can also help. Get a formula meant for pets. Lastly, your veterinarian has medications to stop itching like Apoquel or Cytopoint. There is also immunotherapy options to address environmental allergies. I hope this helps.

I would try to add in some fish oil or omega 3 fatty acids to her diet to help moisturize her skin from the inside out. I would also put her on a regular regimen of an allergy medicine. You can start with trying benadryl twice a day. See links below. I think the oatmeal shampoo is good but I wouldn't bathe her any more than every 7-14 days. If this doesn't help, I would strongly recommend to have her seen by your vet. Your vet will be able to put her on a stronger allergy medicine if needed and oral antibiotics if needed. Unfortunately, allergies can't be cured but you have to figure out the best way to maintain her. I hope this helps and she starts to feel better soon! https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/benadryl/# https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/vetri-science-laboratories-omega-3-6-9-dog-and-cat-gel-caps

Some OTC antihistamines (diphenhydramine, loratidine, chlorpheniramine, etc.) may provide relief. Prescription drugs, such as Atopica or Apoquel, may be more effective. These last two would need to be dispensed by your veterinarian. Never medicate your pet without the advice of your vet.
