Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 26 days old | 20 lbs
Every morning when we take our dog (5 mo Pembroke Welsh Corgi) out of his crate he coughs. It doesn't last long, and it doesn't seem extreme or overly concerning, and he doesn't do it at all throughout the rest of the day, even if he's excited/panting/etc.. is this still something we should be concerned about?

Congratulations on your new puppy, I'm sure he is adorable! First, I would determine definitively if it is a cough or a reverse sneeze (you can find a video of this online). Reverse sneezing is not something to worry about, but a cough in a puppy can be, as it can be indicative of a heart issue, an infection, tracheal irritation or allergies, for example. I would try to video it and show it to his regular veterinarian for their opinion on if it is concerning or not. Good luck!
