Why is my dog bleeding from her anus with a red bulge after pooping?

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 5 years and 4 months old | 48.5 lbs

my staffy dogs is bleeding out her anus after pooing,when she is finished there is a small red balloon bulge protruding out.it goes pack in when she has finished exercising and rests.vet suggested salazopyrin but that didn't work.has been happening for about 3 months,her also had internal examination,no luck

It sounds like your dog has a rectal polyp. This fleshy bit of tissue is likely what is causing the blood you are seeing in the stool. If the treatment your vet prescribed is not working Jaz may need surgery to remove the polyp. Some vets feel comfortable performing this surgery while others may refer you to a specialist for surgery or endoscopy. I would recommend speaking with your vet about a possible referral to have the polyp removed.

    This is common in small dogs and can be from the diet, stress or an infection. Usually when they are small with bloody diarrhea, it is recommend to see a vet as this can require hospitalization due to dehydration. It is unlikely the dye as this is more a myth with no science to prove so. Your vet can check for an infection and start medicine to help
