Why does my 5-year-old fixed cat suddenly jump, run, and act scared?

I have a male cat that is fixed he is 5 yrs old he will be sleeping and all the sudden he jumps up runs then acts like he cant walk and very scared only last a few seconds he has done this tree times in the last month. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 5 years and 6 months old | 13 lbs
