Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | 33 lbs
My dog is a mix of English Bulldog and Basset hound. He is 10 yrs old and looks like a baby Saint Bernard. We recently discovered he had a urinary tract infection so that was treated with an injection of antibiotics and given pills to give him for pain and inflammation. a week later we were back at the vet's for another round of antibiotics, this time it was pills for 10 days and again the medicine for pain and inflammation. 2 weeks later we still see blood in his urine but no bacteria, HELP!

I'm sorry to hear Harris is having this issue. Blood in the urine can have a variety of causes, including infection, bladder or kidney stones, a sterile bladder inflammatory process, a growth, prostate issues, or an underlying medical issue. I would recommend he be evaluated by a veterinarian, have any necessary testing done (urinalysis, bloodwork, bladder ultrasound), and try to isolate the cause of his issue to come up with any treatment that may be needed. Good luck!

Protein in the urine can be from bladder or kidney issues, given the progression of his symptoms this should be investigated in detail. I recommend a specialist ultrasound scan and further urine and possibly blood tests to determine if there is any evidence of kidney disease causing leakage of protein or bladder inflammation from stones or even tumors

I am sorry Lexy is not feeling well. I would recommend a possible x-ray of her abdomen to make sure she does not have bladder stones. Bladder stones can cause blood and protein in the urine. Also, I would recommend checking some blood work to look at the protein level in her blood stream and kidney values to make sure they are not causing issues with the urine. It is hard to tell you how serious this is due to not having all the test results back yet. I think Lexy needs just some followed up vet care to determine what is going on. Hope that helps
