Why is my kitten meowing non-stop to go outside after neutering?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male

So my kitten who got neutered few weeks ago used to hate being on balcony. Sometimes when he was really hyper and aggresive I would close him on the balcony for few minutes, not for long cause he would meow like crazy. Since he got neutered, seems like all he wants to do is go outside. He goes on balcony and meows non-stop when he hears voices outside. I let him out sometimes under supervision, but not for a long time. How do I stop it, he's driving me crazy meowing all the time

Dexter may be craving extra attention! It is unlikely that this behavior was caused by him being neutered. As kittens get older, they become more and more adventurous and brave. Try to find activities for him inside to burn off some of that energy. You can find cat toys that you hide food in that he has to play with to get the food out, feather toys, crunchy sound toys, or balls with bells. He may also enjoy being able to sit in a window to watch the people outside - you can try a cat treehouse/condo or a window perch.
