My pregnant dog exposed to parvo. Is she safe if vaccinated?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Female | unspayed | 2 years old | 75 lbs

My American bully is up to date on her shots and is 30 days pregnant. She was just recently exposed to parvo. Should I be worried or are we in the clear since she's vaccinated and over 2 years old?

It is very rare of adult dogs properly vaccinated to get parvo. I would not be overly concerned as long as she is eating, drinking and having normal bowel movements. However at any time she starts acting sick I would recommend taking her to a vet as soon as possible. I would make sure that the exposure to parvo is not the same place she will have her puppies. I would recommend setting up a spot for her to have the puppies that is clean and never exposed to parvo. Good luck with Timbers puppies
