What's this raised, possibly infected growth on my dog's carpal pad?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 10 months and 22 days old | 40 lbs

My dog is a pitbull boxer Mix and she has had a weird bump next to her carpal pad for a while, it is raised and looks like it might be an extra growth or possibly infected I'm not sure, i would love your advice thank you. The third image is her normal carpal pad for comparison

Hello, sorry to hear about Stella. It looks like she had been licking at the area for some time. That could be a skin infection known as a lick granuloma which is benign. However Mast Cell tumors and some sarcomas can look pink and ulcerated as well. A sample from the mass may be the best way to tell if this is something more aggressive than a lick granuloma. A biopsy may be the best for Stella, however, due to its location your veterinarian may assess that it is not a removable mass. Hope this helps.

    This bump looks quite irritated. It could be an ulcer, an infection, or even a small skin tumor. I would recommend evaluation by a veterinarian so that they can diagnose this lump and get Stella on the appropriate medications (if needed). Until her appointment, make sure she isn't licking it as that will only make it worse. You can cover it with a sock or have her wear a cone/e-collar on her head.
