Yes, that appears to be a tinge of blood. I would not consider this life threatening or an emergency however, I think you should have him checked out by your vet in the next week or two. They need to do a thorough exam including a rectal exam and fecal test. The most common cause for blood in the stool in a young dog like Bruno would be parasites. That being said, it could also be dietary related, an allergy or any number of things that I think may be less likely in a dog his age. Here is a link to an article regarding this issue: http://www.petplace.com/article/dogs/diseases-conditions-of-dogs/symptoms/hematochezia-blood-in-stool-in-dogs I hope this helps. Best wishes!

Hello, sorry to hear about Bruno. That does look like blood in his feces. However, it doesn't look like it is sufficient enough to cause a legend threatening emergency. I would worry that your dog is stressed and may be having a mild degree of stress colitis. Other causes however can also cause blood in stool and if the problem persists, you should visit your veterinarian to have him evaluated. Hope this helps.

It does look like there is a small amount of blood in Bruno's stool. Potential causes for blood in stool include parvo virus, intestinal parasites, gastrointestinal foreign body (something Bruno ate that is causing irritation to the gut lining), and rectal polyps. It does not appear to be a concerning amount this time, but if it continues for a few more days, I recommend that Bruno see a veterinarian just to be sure there is not something more serious going on. Take a fresh stool sample with you to the appointment so the vet can check the feces for intestinal parasites.
