Is my vaccinated cat at risk for panleukopenia from a false positive?

can my vaccinated cat contract the panleukopenia virus from the feces of a cat who was diagnosed and received a false positive

Hello, Evee will not contract panleukopenia. A false positive indicates that the car does not have panleukopenia and therefore should not be shedding the virus in his or her feces. Your cat is also vaccinated so Evee should have antibodies to help fight an infection off. Finally, panleukopenia is mainly a disease of kittens, so if Evee is an adult to mature cat then the likely good that she can contract the disease is much lower. Hope this helps

    If the test was truly a false positive, then the feces would not be infected with panleukopenia. Properly vaccinated cats should be protected against panleukopenia. So the risk of infection for Evee is extremely low.
