My small dog has yellow, slimy diarrhea and vomiting. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | spayed | 6 years and 6 months old | 6.5 lbs

My dog has had watery diarrhea all day plus vomiting a few times. Tonight her diarrhea looks very yellow thick & mucus. Her vomit is also the similar. I am just worried, she is a 6-7 lb Pomarainian. She does occasionally try to eat out of the cat box.

I would seek out veterinary attention. It is hard to say what could ve wrong, but with small dogs, being sick like this for any length of time can be dangerous. They dont have much (in terms of body weight and resources) to sustain them. If they get sick, they get dehydrated very quickly and it can turn dangerous quickly. Best to have a vet look at them and figure out what is going on.
