My kitten isn't vaccinated. Is breeding him risky for future kittens?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 15 days old

I have a kitten almost 4 months old with no vacations and am considering breeding him down the line, would it be dangerous for the babies if he is not vaccinated by that time?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I highly recommend vaccinating Spooky for his health, for the cat he may breeds health and his future kittens health. He should be properly dewormed, receive his FVRCP (feline distemper series which helps prevent infectious diseases) and his rabies vaccine. It is always best to be proactive about their health! Good luck!
