Why did my dog's pink belly turn dark? Is it age, heat, or a problem?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Puli | Male | neutered | 26 lbs

The Color of my dogs belly has gone from a pinkish color to darker color. He's a Hungarian Puli and is 10 years old. He still eats, plays, sleeps, digests and has shown no change in behavior. Is this just the cause of the summer heat, a cause of age or could this be the sign of something ?

Sometimes it is normal change that will change back with no attention to it. Other times this can be a sign of an yeast infection or a low thyroid. Typically you do have other signs associated with these disease such as hair loss or itchy skin and lethargy. If none are nites then you can just monitor for any changes
