My Border Collie has a lump after fleas. Is it flea-related?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | 55 lbs

I've had a bad flea problem I recently got under control. Two dogs both got frontline as well as two house cats. I still had fleas, treated house and yard, it's for most part gone. Couple here and there when dogs come from outside. My border collie isn't fond of poking and sifting for fleas. I noticed this today and was curious about what it is, flea related. Vets booked and trying to avoid emergency services or another vet.

This lump on Twister may not be unrelated to the fleas he's previously experienced. It could be a cyst or a benign lump. It is something worth getting checked out by a vet, but I wouldn't consider it an emergency visit. As long as he is still eating and drinking normally, behaving normally, and the lump isn't bothering him too much, he can wait to be seen until your vet has a free spot available :-)
