Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | 7 years and 9 months old
I have a 9 year male cat that has been hissing at my son. The cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I started him on insulin and give it too him as directed by the vet. Tiger does not like my son it's came down to the point where I need to get rid of him, but I don't want to put him down nor the animal shelter for that matter. But i know no one will take of a cat that's diabetic. It's pains as a mother and pet owner. What should I do with Tiger?

I'm sorry about tiger. My honest answer is you need to hang on with tiger. He needs someone right now, and it is true you'd have a very hard time re-homing him. And he's still young, so euthanasia isn't really needed since it's treatable. If he's just hissing at the son, I wouldn't be too concerned. With his condition, he's probly not as tolerable of things. I'd let your son know to minimize contact. Maybe, if needed, you can keep the cat in one part of house, rather then near your son at all times. There are also such thing as veterinary behavioralists that may be able to help you too. Good luck.
