Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 50 lbs
I have a 2 year old beagle. She has been vomiting for the past 2 days. Usually it is 2 big piles of vommit that look like food and then several little ones. We haven't switched her food and she hasn't been able to get into anything. She just commuted again and it looked like there is blood in the vommit. I am concerned that something is wrong. Any advice would be much appreciated!

I'm concerned that Nola may have something in her stomach or intestines that is preventing the food from going down properly. Also having blood in the undigested food could be due to irritation from something like a bone in her stomach. Since it has already been two days I recommend you take her in for an exam and your veterinarian will probably want to take an x-ray. I hope she gets better quickly.

Hello, sorry to hear about Hugo. Theres multiple things that could be causing this. It could be something within his GI tract including an infection with a virus or parasites, ingestion of a foreign body (toy, rock, bone, etc.) which could be causing an obstruction and some form if inflammation due to eating a food that didn't sit well with him. Other causes such as pancreatitis, liver disease, or kidney disease cause cause this as well. You should not feed him anything for the rest of the day to give his stomach and intestines a bit of a rest, then restart him on a bland diet (plain white rice, skinless and boneless chicken) for 3-5 days tomorrow. If this stops the vomiting then he should be ok. Otherwise, have him seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. He may need x-rays and bloodwork to determine what could be causing this. Hope this helps and best of luck.
