Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 3 months old | 8 lbs
We have a Maltese poodle mix about 8 lbs she got into Advil Cold and Sinus gels and we think she ate three our local vet told us to give her hydrogen peroxide to make her vomit but this was two hours after she had ingested them that was around 9 p.m. now here at 3 a.m. Central Time she is going crazy can't hold still it's like she's on speed she's panting pretty hard and her heart is beating very fast. Earlier she has peed and pooped and eaten and drank water. She won't stay still.

Advil is potentially very toxic for dogs, it can cause acute kidney failure and the amount she ingested is enough to cause severe damage. if she did not throw up the pills you must take her to the emergencies urgently, she will need to be put on IV fluids and will be given activated charcoal to try and neutralize the toxic effect of Advil. she will also need to have a blood test done to make sure the kidneys are not affected.

Hi, I am sorry to hear about your problem with Sadie. Advil cold and sinus contains Pseudoephedrine which can be harmful to dogs. I would put my hand on her heart and feel how many times it beats in one minute. If it is over 160, she needs to go to an emergency clinic. Even if her heart rate is normal, i would still take her to the vet right now on an emergency basis. Ibuprofen is also toxic to dogs and may not show up right away but she can go into organ failure if she has eaten enough. 3 is a lot for an 8 lb dog and she needs veterinary attention immediately. This could be life threatening without treatment. Good luck, i hope Sadi is okay!
