My chihuahua got tea tree oil for fleas. Is it toxic? Are they okay?

I put 100% tea tree oil on my 6 and 8 pound chihuahuas for fleas but I washed it off within 10 minutes after reading how toxic it can be. Will they be okay? I'm nervous and feel like a bad owner for not researching more carefully! Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 8 lbs

Giving them a bath is the best thing to strip their coats and skin if the oil. Make sure you used dawn dish soap as this cuts grease and oil based products very well. Since little got absorbed due to the timely baths, they are unlikely to show any ill effects. Monitor for any vomiting or shaking.
